Jordan Davis will forever be linked to Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Using the 13th overall pick the Browns traded March 18 to the Houston Texans in the Watson deal, the Philadelphia Eagles chose Georgia defensive tackle Davis on Thursday night in the first round of the NFL Draft.
The Eagles traded up two spots to pick Davis. Coincidentally, Browns General Manager Andrew Berry served as the Eagles' vice president of football operations in 2019 and views Philly GM Howie Roseman as a mentor.
In exchange for the No. 13 overall choice, the Eagles sent four picks to the Texans — Nos. 15, 124 (fourth round), 162 and 166 (fifth round).
The Texans then drafted Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green at No. 15 overall.

Of course, the Browns don't have a first-round pick this year because they traded it for Watson, a three-time Pro Bowl selection the franchise believes can deliver its first Super Bowl.
The move is surrounded by controversy because Watson faces 22 active civil lawsuits from women accusing him of sexual misconduct or sexual assault during massage appointments. He has denied all wrongdoing, and two Texas grand juries combined last month to decline to indict him on 10 criminal complaints. He will still likely be suspended by the NFL under its personal conduct policy.

Despite Watson's legal woes, the Browns agreed to send six picks to the Texans in exchange for him and a 2024 sixth-round selection. The Browns also gave Watson a five-year contract worth an NFL-record $230 million fully guaranteed.

Here is the haul of draft compensation the Texans received from the Browns:
• 2022 first-round pick (traded 13th overall to Eagles, who chose Davis; Texans took Green with the 15th overall pick from Eagles)
• 2022 fourth-round pick (107th overall, from Detroit)
• 2023 first-round pick
• 2023 third-round pick
• 2024 first-round pick
• 2024 fourth-round pick
The Watson blockbuster became the first deal in which an NFL team surrendered three first-round picks to acquire a player since 1989, when the Minnesota Vikings traded with the Dallas Cowboys for running back Herschel Walker, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
