TAMPA ― Tom Brady has won seven Super Bowls, but one of the most memorable moments of his career was his toss of the Lombardi Trophy across the Hillsborough River to Cameron Brate during the Bucs’ boat parade.

The viral video of Brady, under the influence of avocado tequila, made the rounds and only added to his celebrity.

But coach Bruce Arians says he made the first successful Lombardi Trophy toss, to Brady’s boat.

“I’m still upset Tom got all the praise,” Arians said during an interview with NFL Network’s Rich Eisen. “I threw it to his boat. Nobody put that in the news. It was only about 2 feet, but I threw it to him.”

Of course, Arians didn’t pass the trophy as much as he sort of handed it off. At the very most, it was a lateral.

“About 2 feet,” Arians said. “We didn’t want to scratch his boat up. It’s too pretty.”
