Bruce Brown is excited to play with Sekou Doumbouya again

It seems like the Brooklyn Nets are becoming a designated stop for ex-Detroit Pistons players. After acquiring Blake Griffin and Bruce Brown last season, now Brooklyn will also have the services of Sekou Doumbouya. The Pistons drafted the Guinea native in 2019 and it was then when he became teammates with Griffin and Brown.

In an interview with Anthony Puccio of the Association, Brown did not hold back his excitement on playing with Doumbouya again:

“We’re friends, so we talk from time to time. Ya know, that’s my dawg. I’m excited for him to be here. He’s still finding his way, so the Nets are the perfect place to learn. He’ll have a chance to learn multiple roles and learn from the best.”

Brown also touched on why he decided to return to the Nets even though analysts projected him to receive offers around $12M. The Boston native pointed out that one of the reasons were to compete for a championship, and that was something he did not want to miss out on:

“We had unfinished business. I wasn’t gonna miss that opportunity.”
