Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band add tour dates, coming to Philly, D.C., Baltimore

Are you ready to scream your head off with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band?
The much-anticipated North American stadium leg of the Springsteen and E Street world tour is official, and dates include Citizens Bank Ballpark in Philadelphia on Aug. 16 and 18; Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 28; and Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore on Sept. 9.
The newly announced shows include arena dates on the West Coast and Canada. Tickets, the price of which were not immediately released, go on sale over the course of the next two weeks, with the first sale beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, for the Aug. 9 show at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Tickets for the Washington and Baltimore shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 28.
Some shows will be using Verified Fan via Ticketmaster. Verified Fan requires preregistration at verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/springsteen and is open through Sunday, Feb. 19, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Verified Fan is intended to make it easier for fans to get tickets and harder for resellers and bots, according to Ticketmaster. Visit blog.ticketmaster.com/bruce-springsteen-e-street-band-2023 for more information.
Some tour shows will not be using Ticketmaster, including the Philadelphia shows. They go on sale through the venue on Feb. 28. Tickets sold out quickly for the U.S. arena tour — which went on sale after the European stadium shows. Some fans were upset at the pricing of the U.S. shows as the cost of some “platinum” tickets went up to $5,000.

The average price of the tickets is $262, according to Ticketmaster and Springsteen's camp, and 56% were sold for under $200. Prices vary, depending on where you live.

Springsteen teased the stadium concerts on the May 6, 2020, episode of his “From My Home, To Yours” show on SiriusXM.
“All I can tell you is when this experience is over, I am going to throw the wildest party you have ever seen and you, my friends, are all invited,” said Springsteen during the COVID-19 quarantine. “As hard as it is to believe right now, your children will go back to school. Churches will be open and full.
"You will once again hug and kiss family members at your gatherings. You will shout over the noise of a crowded bar to order a drink and to speak to your friends. You will buy a hot dog at Yankee Stadium. You will walk through the streets of your hometown free and easy. You may hold a complete stranger on a crowded dance floor, and 50,000 people will once again scream their heads off somewhere in New Jersey.”

Springsteen later quipped to the USA Today Network NJ that the party will begin at Jersey Freeze in Freehold, then head north.

Early dates of the arena tour have been affected by COVID-19. E Street Band members Little Steven Van Zandt and Soozie Tyrell missed the group's Friday, Feb. 10, show at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Tyrell also missed the previous show at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida.
The E Street Band is Roy Bittan, piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren, guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa, guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent, bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt, guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg, drums; with Soozie Tyrell, violin, guitar, vocals; Jake Clemons, saxophone; and Charlie Giordano, keyboards.
The E Street Horns are Curt Ramm and Barry Danielian, trumpet; Eddie Manion, sax; and Ozzie Melendez, trombone. The E Street Choir is Anthony Almonte, Curtis King, Michelle Moore, Lisa Lowell and Ada Dyer.
