Bruce Springsteen will sing — and probably tell jokes — at the 16th annual Stand Up for Heroes benefit on Nov. 7 in David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

The night's other performers include Jon Stewart, Jeff Ross, Iliza Shlesinger, the Lumineers, Amber Iman and Hasan Minhaj. The event, part of the New York Comedy Festival, raises funds for the Woodruff Foundation in support of veterans.

“With so many of the challenges veterans face being exacerbated by the pandemic, it is essential that we all come together again to not only celebrate them and their sacrifices, but also to remind the veteran community that there are people and organizations who truly care and won’t stop fighting on their behalf,” said Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, in a statement.

The Woodruff Foundation forges partnerships and unites leaders in government, the military, business and philanthropy in support of veterans. Bob Woodruff is an ABC correspondent who was wounded in Iraq.

Springsteen's jokes, told in between songs, are usually off-color.

“The Boss can’t lose, you’re going to laugh,” said comedian Donnell Rawlings at last year's festival. “Most guys who reach the fame he has, which aren’t a lot, can captivate an audience, can communicate with a sense of humor.”

Tickets for Stand Up for Heroes, which start at $175, are on sale through bobwoodrufffoundation.org, nycomedyfestival.com and the Lincoln Center box office.
