From “Nebraska” to Asbury Park.

Warren Zanes, author of the new “Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska,” will be interviewed at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, by Springsteen photographer Danny Clinch at Clinch's Transparent Gallery in Asbury Park.

Zanes will also sign copies of “Deliver Me from Nowhere.” Tickets, $40, do not include a copy of the book and are available via transparentclinchgallery.ticketbud.com/warrenzanes.

Springsteen's lo-fi classic “Nebraska” was released in 1982. Zanes interviewed the Boss for his book.

“If I had to pick out one album and say, ‘This is going to represent you 50 years from now,’ ” said Springsteen to “CBS Sunday Morning,” I’d pick 'Nebraska.' ”

The album is composed of demos Springsteen recorded on Teac 4-track recorder in a Colts Neck farmhouse. The original intent was to record and release the songs with the E Street Band, but the decision was made to leave them as they were.

“I wanted to know where 'Nebraska' came from, what it led to,” said Zanes in a statement. “It sat between two of Springsteen’s most celebrated recordings, in its own quiet and turmoil. He described it to me as 'an accident start to finish,' but also as the album that 'still might be [his] best.' ”

Zanes, a Massachusetts native now living in Montclair, is no stranger to Asbury Park. He's played the city's Stone Pony with his former band the Del Fuegos, which also featured his brother, Dan Zanes.

Warren’s credits include the New York Times bestseller “Petty: The Biography”; the PBS series “Soundbreaking”; and as a consulting producer on the Oscar-winning “Twenty Feet from Stardom.”

He's served as the vice president of education for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and executive director for Steven Van Zandt's Rock and Roll Forever Foundation.
