Bruce Willis Sells Turks and Caicos Compound for $27 Million
Bruce Willis and his wife, Emma Heming Willis, very nearly broke a record with the recent sale of their sprawling Turks and Caicos compound. The couple raked in an impressive $27 million for the roughly 13,500-square-foot property, just short of the $27.5 million price tag on the island's most expensive piece of property, a nearby home known as Oliver’s Cove that sold in 2016.
Willis and Heming Willis listed their longtime beachfront getaway a little over four months ago for $33 million. The Die Hard star bought the land—a generous 7.37 waterfront acres—back in 2000, and completed the Asian-inspired compound in 2004. It consists of an elegant five-bedroom main house, a yoga pavilion, and two guest casitas with three bedrooms each.
The main house, which spans more than 5,000 square feet, features an open floor plan with a harmonious flow between the outdoor and indoor spaces; most of the common living areas have walls of glass sliders that can be opened for direct access to the back patio and pool. The master suite, which spans the entire upper level, boasts a large private balcony, and two of the guest rooms also have their own private sundecks. The couple completely renovated the home last year.
Parting with the place likely wasn't an easy decision for the pair, who were married there in 2009 and marked their 10-year wedding anniversary by renewing their vows there earlier this year. “For the past 20 years, we’ve made so many beautiful memories on the island,” they said in a statement to Architectural Digest. “We fell in love and married there, enjoyed two babymoons on the Cay, and it was on our beach that we renewed our vows.”
The pair, who share two young daughters together—Evelyn Penn Willis and Mabel Ray Willis—will also be leaving behind a number of impressive amenities that come with the house, which is technically part of the COMO Parrot Cay resort. These include a massive pool, a children’s pirate-ship-themed playground, a beach volleyball court, butler service, and more.
Their decision to sell the property is largely due to their recent relocation to the West Coast. Their Bedford Corners, New York, estate is currently still on the market for $9.39 million.
