Bruins D Grzelcyk (concussion) cleared to play in Game 7

The Bruins will get some help on defense in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final as Matt Grzelcyk has been released from concussion protocol. He is expected to play Wednesday night at Boston.

Grzelcyk has been out since Game 2 of the series when he was driven into the boards by St. Louis Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist, who received a one-game suspension for the hit.

Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said the addition of Grzelcyk likely would cost Connor Clifton playing time. Grzelcyk has been on the practice ice for a week but was not cleared to play in Game 5 or 6. He suffered the concussion on May 29, meaning he has not played for two weeks.

"One thing about Matt, if he does go in (after) missing some games, he's been skating with us," Cassidy told reporters. "It's not like he just jumped on the ice yesterday. He's been participating, albeit non-contact, so it's a little bit of a different animal there."

Grzelcyk, in his second full season with the Bruins, scored three goals with 15 assists in 66 games this season. In 19 games during the playoffs, he has three goals and four assists.
