More businesses are lining up to join the quickly developing Leland Town Center commercial development.

Located along booming U.S. 17, the Leland Town Center consists of several standalone properties and multi-tenant buildings. The development sits at the intersection of Gateway Boulevard and Ploof Road.

The area currently hosts Aldi, Starbucks, Firehouse Subs, Chick-fil-A, the newly opened Lowe’s Home Improvement and incoming Cook Out.

Among the shopping center’s hopeful new tenants are a brunch restaurant, tire shop and fitness center. Here’s what we know.

Eggs Up Grill

Eggs Up Grill, a rapidly growing breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant, is set to open a location in Leland Town Center by May 2024.

The brand has franchise locations across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee and Alabama. The Leland restaurant will mark the third Eggs Up Grill in Brunswick County, with successful locations up and running in Southport and Shallotte.

The restaurant boasts classic breakfast dishes such as omelets, benedicts and French toast, as well as burgers and sandwiches.

The Leland location will call a 3,300-square-foot space at 3572 Leland Town Center Drive home.

Mavis Tire

According to site plans submitted to the town of Leland, Mavis Tire looks to find a space in Leland Town Center as well.

The discount tire and brake shop has more than 850 locations across 22 states, including a location at Ocean Isle Beach. The chain’s original location opened in Vermont in 1949.

The shop is planned for 9410 Ploof Road in Leland, near the Aldi grocery store. Plans are currently under review by the town’s technical review committee.

Fitness club

Plans have also been submitted to the town for a fitness club in Leland Town Center.

Site plans detail a 30,000-square-foot fitness building space to be built on currently vacant land adjacent to the just-opened Lowe’s Home Improvement. An outdoor turf, 142-space parking lot and two bike racks are also outlined in the submitted plans, which are currently being reviewed by the town’s technical review committee.

The master site plan for Leland Town Center indicates more than 50 acres of land to the east of Lowe’s Home Improvement – along Tradeway Drive and Gateway Boulevard – could someday hold two stand-alone restaurant buildings, a building with seven retail spaces and a daycare building.

The development is part of Leland’s retail corridor, nearby the Wal-Mart and Harris Teeter, with several residential communities close by and more homes under construction.

Much of the Leland Town Center development is managed by C&S Commercial Properties, a Fayetteville-based, multi-faceted real estate company.
