Listen Up Brunswick County and Brunswick Arts Council present The Kennedys, husband-and-wife, folk-rock/ Americana duo, will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at the Odell Williamson Auditorium, on the campus of Brunswick Community College, 150 College Road, N.E., Bolivia. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Brunswick Little Theatre

Brunswick Little Theatre announces auditions for "Drinking Habits," a fast-paced, door-slamming, mistaken-identity farce by Tom Smith.  Auditions will be held 6-8 p.m. April 13-14 and 3-5 p.m. April 16 at 8068 River Road, Southport.

Auditions consist of cold readings from the script. The cast is three men, ages 20-70+, and five women, ages 20-70+.

Kayak adventures along the Cape Fear

Leland Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources presents Kayak along the Intracoastal Waterway to Shark Tooth Island, 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 14, or Eagles Island Sunrise paddle, 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 18. The cost is $60. Program fee includes supplies. Live jazz and swing

Put on your dancing shoes as you enjoy all of your favorites jazz music with Gin Fizz. The event begins at 7 p.m. Friday, April 14 at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, 1212 Magnolia Village Way, Leland. The cost is $15. A swing dance lesson begins at 6:30 p.m.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Dosher Memorial Hospital will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 14 at the Jaycee Building at 309 N. Fodale Ave., Southport. Community members who would like to donate blood are encouraged to sign up online at https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and enter in zip code 28461 in the “Find a Blood Drive” search tool, then click on "Jaycee Building." All donors are welcome. Please bring a photo ID.

One-day boating course

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-05 (Southport/Oak Island/Shallotte) presents the boating course Boat American Class.

The one-day beginner boating course covers topics such as nomenclature, required equipment, operating legally and safely, navigating through the waterways, emergency procedures and more.

The class will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at the Brunswick Electric Membership Corp., 795 Ocean Highway West, Supply.

The cost is $35 per person or $30 each for two or more, payable by check or cash at the door.
