Low Country Boil

Spend the afternoon enjoying delicious coastal cuisine, drinks, live music and games at the Museum of Coastal Carolina's Low Country Boil, 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

Local duo TNT will provide live music and you can challenge your friends to a game of cornhole.

Tickets are $35 and will include shrimp, clams, mussels, sausage, potatoes, corn, coleslaw, hushpuppies or cornbread, and one drink of your choice; wine, beer, soda or water. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. Homemade desserts will be provided for free. Dine-in and to-go options are available. Participants can bring lawn chairs.

The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 E. Second St., Ocean Isle Beach.

Shallotte SummerFest Concert

Summerfest, hosted by the town of Shallotte, begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at Mulberry Park, 123 Mulberry St. Too Much Sylvia performs. Bring your chair and blanket.

Grissettown Longwood Fall Craft Fair

A craft fair will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 17 at 758 Longwood Road, NW, Ocean Isle Beach.

Vendors will include Tutti & Road Creations, Sweet Little Treats, Bliss Kiss Boutique, Coastal Ivy & Co. Items include door hangers, ornaments, wreaths, soaps, Christmas crafts, jewelry, fairy hair, antiques, boutique clothing, dog treats, stained glass, crochet, makeup/skin care, laser engraving, home decor, greeting cards/paper crafts, and more.

There will be food and drinks available for purchase.

Listen Up Brunswick County concert

South for Winter, often described as “folk-blues,” “folk-jazz,” or “Renaissance,” will perform Saturday, Sept. 17. The opening act will be LRB3.

Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Virginia Williamson Events Center at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick County College, 150 College Road, NE, Bolivia.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 day of show.

Exhibits at Franklin Square Gallery

Franklin Square Gallery will be hosting two exhibits — the Oak Island Beach Quilters (which will run through Saturday, Sept. 17) and the Members’ Show.

The Oak Island Beach Quilters exhibition features 18 beautiful quilts by members of the Oak Island Beach Quilters. The overall theme for the Quilt Show is “birds” which appear in some form in each quilt. There are also displays of charity quilts, donated to various charities such as Habitat for Humanity, and Honors Quilts that are given to veterans and public service employees.

The Members Show, which will run until Monday, Oct. 17, consists of seven rooms of paintings and pottery created by over 100 artists of the Associated Artists of Southport. Works are done in a wide variety of styles, mediums, and sizes including a mini gallery, featuring paintings smaller than 9x12. Prints, cards and gift items also are available.

The gallery is is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, located at 130 E. West St., Southport.
