New Brunswick woman dies in Woodbridge Christmas Eve crash

WOODBRIDGE – A 47-year-old New Brunswick woman died and two others were injured in a Christmas Eve morning crash on the Garden State Parkway.

Around 7:52 a.m. Christmas Eve, State Police responded to the Woodbridge section of the Garden State Parkway on report of an accident, authorities said.

According to the preliminary investigation, a Dodge Caravan traveling south went off the road to the right, traveled up an embankment, struck several trees, traveled back towards the road, struck the guardrail and overturned. As a result, two passengers were ejected, police said.

Passenger Devona Hutchinson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Tara Garland, 46, of Edison, sustained serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The driver, Samuel Huff, 67, of East Orange sustained minor injuries, authorities said

The accident remains under investigation.
