Oct. 14—The Sanford Brush and Palette Club will hold its 56th Annual Art Show beginning Saturday at the Bob E. Hales Center.

It is the major event of the year for the club that was formed in 1964. There is no admission fee.

The show features about 900 pieces of art in 14 different mediums. On Friday, judges will pick the winners of various categories from about 430 pieces of art. The remaining works will be on display and for sale, said JuliAnn Robinson, chair of the event.

The event is open to the public beginning Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 22.

Art After Dark is scheduled Oct. 22 from 6-9 p.m.

The show's 2020 event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Robinson said.

Those attending are being asked to wear masks because of the coronavirus, she said, and no food or drink is allowed in the gymnasium where the display is set up.

The Bob E. Hales Center is located at 147 McIver St.
