According to Huron Volunteer Fire Chief Bill Kinser, the home, owned by Randy and Sherryl Tolbert, is "pretty much a total loss," based on the damage caused by the fire, however no injuries were reported and all animals inside were rescued.

The fire itself began in the garage, likely due to an electrical short according to Kinser, before spreading to the home.

Members of the various departments stayed at the site until early into Monday morning extinguishing the fire. Kinser told the Times-Mail that he did not return home until around 6 a.m. Monday.
