Bryce Reed shoots 1-under 71 to pace Kent State men's golf team at NCAA Norman Regional
The Kent State men's golf team moved up two places to 11th in the 13-team field after shooting 5-over-par 293 in the second round of the NCAA Norman Regional, held Tuesday at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.
The Golden Flashes rest at 24-over, 10 shots out of ninth place. No. 18 Auburn took the team lead after shooting 12-under 276 on Tuesday to get to 20-under for the event, six shots better than No. 1 Oklahoma.
Freshman Bryce Reed paced the Flashes in round two with a 1-under 71, moving him into a tie for 34th place individually at 4-over. Grad student Josh Gilkison shot 1-over 73 on Tuesday, while freshman Jordan Gilkison carded a 2-over 74 and junior Cade Breitenstine added a 3-over 75 for KSU.
Kent State will conclude its 2021-22 season with Wednesday's third and final round at the Norman Regional.
