BSO Bomb Squad, US Air Force Called Out To Lauderdale-by-the-Sea After Deputy Comes Across Military Mine That Washed Ashore

Crews were able to safely remove the mine from the beach.

- An unusual discovery in Lauderdale by the sea this morning. According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, a deputy on patrol saw a military explosive device that had apparently washed up on shore. Deputies secured the area around the item and called the BSO Bomb Squad, as well as the US Air Force. Crews were able to safely remove the mine from the beach, but officials are still investigating.
