Out BTS: See Billy Porter's 'Magical' Return to Music

With an upcoming album and tour, Billy Porter is returning to the music industry "on my own terms," and the experience is "magical."

In between the glitz and the glam, Out's March/April cover star spoke candidly about his journey in the entertainment industry during his NYC photo shoot earlier this year. His new single, "Baby Was a Dancer," is an ode to not just "surviving, but thriving" through the different eras of his life, he reveals.

Recorded by videographer Austin Nunes, the shoot was photographed by Sam Waxman and styled by Ty Hunter and Colin Anderson. Also on hand to help with the glamour were assistant stylists Manuel Mendez and Mario Solaris, hair stylist Cheryl Bergamy, makeup artist La Sonya Gunter, nail tech Nia Much, and Out's executive creative director Raine Bascos.
