The NBA has revealed BTS member Suga as its newest ambassador.
Suga himself made the announcement in a video released by the NBA's Twitter accounts on Wednesday.

The K-pop star expressed his excitement about the collaboration in a press release issued by the NBA.
Music and basketball have been shared passions of mine since my youth, and it’s a dream to be named an NBA Ambassador. I’m excited to formalize my relationship with the NBA, and I can’t wait to share some exciting collaborations I have planned with the league over the coming months.

NBA COO Mark Tatum echoed Suga’s enthusiasm about the partnership.

The BTS member is expected to take part in various programs for the rest of the 2022-2023 season, such as attending basketball games and events held in the U.S. and Asia.

The NBA is also planning to work with Suga on some of his upcoming solo concerts to promote his first solo album, ”D-Day.”
His love of basketball has been apparent throughout his career. In the BTS hit song ”Dynamite,” he can be seen playing on a basketball court while wearing a ”Tune Squad” jersey from the film “Space Jam.” Additionally, his stage name takes the first syllables from the phrase “shooting guard,” the position he used to play, and merges them to form Suga.
Last year, he sat courtside at the Golden State Warriors and the Washington Wizards' preseason game in Japan, where he met Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson for the first time.

Suga will drop “D-Day” on April 21 alongside his documentary “The Road to D-Day” on Disney+.
