BTS gives 'Dynamite' virtual performance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
BTS is keeping Jimmy Fallon company this week.
The K-pop supergroup has taken up a week-long residency on "The Tonight Show." It kicked off Monday night on NBC.
Hours before the first episode aired, BTS' "Dynamite" retook the No. 1 ranking on Billboard's Hot 100, with 14 million U.S. streams and 153,000 downloads last week. They're the first-ever all-South Korean group to land in the top spot. "Dynamite" is the group's first song performed fully in English.
"BE," a new album — the second from BTS this year — is set to drop Nov. 20, members announced over the weekend.
Fallon opened Monday's BTS Week show with his usual monologue, followed by a skit where he impersonated President Donald Trump. Members of BTS — RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — materialized after about 15 minutes, performing a pre-taped version of "Dynamite" alongside Fallon and his house band, The Roots.

BTS is set to perform each night this week. They won't be interviewed by Fallon until Wednesday.
“We love having BTS on the show," Fallon said in a news release. "These guys are incredible, and you just know they’re going to go above and beyond to make their performance unforgettable. Last time we had them on we took over Grand Central Terminal, so we had our work cut out for us to top that."
'Dynamite': BTS earns first No. 1 debut on Billboard's Hot 100 chart
At the end of Monday's show, BTS returned to perform their 2018 hit "Idol." They were not in studio due to coronavirus restrictions, instead performing at a remote locale.
Monday's other guests included actor Jim Parsons, who appears in Netflix's "The Boys in the Band." He discussed his COVID-19 diagnosis earlier this year and how he's been keeping busy during the quarantine.

"I tried other creative outlets since acting obviously wasn't happening," he told Fallon, including painting and creative writing.
Former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith also stopped by to discuss his new CNBC show, which debuts Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.
