Buc-ee’s is building another $6M car wash on Interstate 35 in Texas. It’ll be big, too.

Another Buc-ee’s along Interstate 35 in Texas is getting a Buc-ee’s-sized car wash tunnel, according to business records filed with the state last week.

Back in December, the Star-Telegram reported that the Buc-ee’s on Interstate 35W in far north Fort Worth is getting a car wash this summer, which would be the sixth Buc-ee’s in Texas where you can shine your wheels while chomping on a bag of Beaver Nuggets or beef jerky.

Now the company plans to build a $6 million car wash at the Buc-ee’s in Temple, about 30 miles south of Waco. The construction starts May 1 , and the 5,700-square-foot car wash should be ready to by October.

Buc-ee’s, which boasts of having the “cleanest restrooms in America,” claims that its car wash at its Katy store, built in 2017, holds the world record for being the longest.

Meanwhile, a new Buc-ee’s is planned for Hillsboro, along Interstate 35 roughly between Fort Worth and Waco, in 2024. The new store will be along I-35 and US 77, about 40 minutes south of Fort Worth and roughly halfway to Waco. It will bring at least 200 jobs. When the company registered the project with the state last summer, it estimated construction would finish in October 2023.
