Buc-ee's submits plans for Clarksville location. Here's what to expect
Clarksville is one step closer to seeing the Buc-ee's Beaver walking around the store as Buc-ee's provides a closer look as its proposed plans.
Buc-ee's announced its plans to open its first Clarksville location at Exit 1 last year and developers Kimley- Horn Associates recently submitted their plans to the Clarksville- Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission. It will be the third Buc-ee's location in Tennessee, behind Crossville and Sevierville.
What to expect
With about 45 acres of land to build on, Buc-ee's will be located just off the westbound Interstate 24 exit ramp. The property will be located at the southeast corner of Tylertown Road and Trenton Road . The plans show the footprint at a 45° angle facing to the northeast.
The land will have plenty of space for visitors who are stopping to shop, get gas or get a picture with the mascot. The Buc-ee's statue is planned for the north corner of the building.
Gas pumps and parking
120 gas pumps lining the northeast-facing front of the store
650 standard parking
19 ADA parking
19 electric vehicle parking
11 bus parking
Buc-ee's plan will be voted on at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Committee will meet on Tuesday, June 27.
What is a Buc-ee's?
Buc-ee's Travel Center, known for its cleanliness, beef jerky and large variety of goods for travelers, first opened its doors in 1982 in Texas. Founder Arch "Beaver" Aplin later partnered with Don Wasek and expanded the business. Since then, Buc-ee's has broken records of having the largest convenience store and gas station and having the self-proclaimed "cleanest restrooms in America".
With over 100 gas pumps and a beaver mascot, Buc-ee's has quickly become a stop for travelers who pass by, or even a travel destination for those wanting to see the excitement.
Tennessee's first Buc-ee's opened in Crossville last June and a location in Sevierville is set to open June 26. The proposed Clarksville and Murfreesboro locations will make the third and fourth ones in the state, but possibly not the last.
