If anyone is able to make a self-deprecating and comically bad action hero named Lady Bug swoon-worthy it’s Brad Pitt, whose most embarrassing moments in “Bullet Train” (like getting sprayed in the face with a bidet or losing his train ticket within minutes) is made just an ounce less cringe by the coolness factor afforded to him by a stylish outfit — namely, a floppy white bucket hat and wide-rimmed glasses that remain his staple accessories throughout most of the film.
The first time you see Pitt without the floppy headwear is when it’s forced off him while in a showdown against Bad Bunny in a desolate train cabin (Bad Bunny is one of the first casualties as half a dozen assassins attempt to kill each other on board the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto to get their hands on a briefcase full of cash). Once Lady Bug successfully stabs him in the heart and cleans up the mess, he swiftly puts the hat back on, not a single blood stain to be seen.

And to top it all off [spoiler alert for “Bullet Train” ahead] his trendy accessory ends up saving him from getting recognized mid-way through the film.
This is not the first time Pitt has donned this trendy headpiece. The bucket is a STAPLE of Pitt’s wardrobe. They’ve been spotted together at the US Open, snapped at Lakers games, there are recorded pics of the two together dating all the way back to the 90s. Bucket and Brad are the power couple that champion comfort first.

The bucket gauntlet has been thrown by Pitt, and the rest of Hollywood is ready to react. Take Amanda Seyfried’s recent Net-a-Porter spread, her cover look is … a Chloé bucket. Justin Bieber, Rihanna and more are all big players in the bucket hat game, it’s time to join.
So here are our list of styles and brands to choose from right now.
PacSun Solid Bucket Hat
Get Pitt’s all-white look with this fresh Pacsun bucket hat, constructed with a malleable design that’s both durable and able to be folded for portability. But this isn’t the only white bucket on the market, there are versions at Walmart, Lululemon, and a terrycloth cream number from Lack of Color (available on Amazon).
Chloé Meril Woven Cotten Bucket Hat
This gorgeous Méril bucket hat from Chloé is worth every penny. A neutral checkered pattern wraps its way around the entire brim and crown, spun together from brown, black and ivory cotton threads. Plus, the stylish topper was made in collaboration with Amambiah, a social enterprise that offers employment to the indigenous Maka community of Paraguay.
Peter Grimm, Grateful Dead Bucket Hat
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Lisa Rinna is another bucket hat aficionado. She’s been spotted in white, tiger stripes, Burberry and Prada numbers but this little Grateful Dead black teddy bear (faux) fur number is a favorite.
Wavefarer Bucket Hat
I can personally attest to the quality of this Patagonia bucket hat. This bucket is a game day player in the shade or on a hike. It has HUGE dad energy but absolutely universal for anyone and everyone. Plus the thing dries in like two seconds if you happen to spill an entire Olipop soda on it. So there’s that as well. Sustainably made, because Patagonia, and beautifully crafted. A winner.
Haley Cloudy Cotton Logo Bucket Hat (60% Off)
This stunning Isabel Marant in tangerine is over half off. There are no more excuses, she is your hat.
Rip Curl Sun Rays Terry Cloth Bucket Hat
Become surfer chic with this teal terry cloth bucket hat, featuring a floppy brim and textured with a tonal jacquard pattern.
Polo Ralph Lauren Paisley Packable Bucket Hat
Bring elegance to the trendy streetwear style with this elevated version from Ralph Lauren. This packable bucket hat folds into itself to tranform into a portable pouch, and is designed with a rich paisley motif and finished with the luxury brand’s embroidered Pony.
Gelante Bucket Hat
This bright red bucket hat is effortlessly cool, featuring brass eyelets for ventilation and a sturdy brim to protect your face from the sun.
