Buckley, a native of Pascagoula and a College Football Hall of Famer for his playing career at Florida State, just completed his second season with the Rebels.

"Ole Miss football and I have agreed to part ways," Buckley wrote on Twitter. "Thank you for the opportunity. The improvement we made defensively from year 1 to 2 was awesome. Players, you know where my heart is concerning you guys. Oxford is a special place. Thank you to the entire Univ. of Miss Family. Tbuck."

Buckley was an original member of Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss coaching staff.

He coached cornerbacks at Akron and Louisville and was defensive backs coach at Mississippi State before being hired at Ole Miss.
