Bucks County towns, businesses, nonprofits and groups offer a full calendar of winter and holiday celebrations this year. And as an extra Christmas bonus, we found lots of things to do in Bucks County that won't bust your holiday budget. Some are even free to attend.

Community Menorah lighting at Shady Brook Farm

Celebrate the second night of Hanukkah at Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield with the Bucks County Jewish community. All are welcome to enjoy crafts, candle lighting, music and donuts.

Holiday Light Show, Shady Brook Farm
The Holiday Light Show at Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road in Lower Makefield, will shine with more than 3 million lights. Guests can ride through in their own car, starting at $40 per vehicle, or ride through in an open-air wagon ride starting at $15 per person, weather permitting.

Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas at Shady Brook Farm

It’s time for Countdown to Christmas on the Hallmark Channel with all new original holiday movie premieres every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the holiday season. For the second year in a row, the Hallmark Channel is extending the celebration beyond the screen by bringing joy and delight to eight towns across the country. The network is partnering with Shady Brook Farm to celebrate the start of the season with one-of-a-kind Hallmark Channel-branded festivities and fun. While on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree, guests can also grab some holiday goodies and strike a pose for a festive photo op to commemorate Countdown to Christmas. In addition, randomly selected visitors will be gifted a free Christmas tree, courtesy of Hallmark Channel.
Winterfest in Morrisville
Dec. 3 and 4'
Winterfest runs over two days and includes a parade that starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ohio Avenue and ends at the high school. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, there will be holiday shopping anc activities at the senior center on Cleveland Avenue. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., historic Summerseat on Legion Street will be open for holiday merriment. Take a tour, meet Santa, have refreshments and make a craft. From 6 to 8 p.m., come out to 50 Pennsylvania St. for a showing of "Charlie Brown Christmas," caroling and more, including a live Nativity with petting zoo. Winterfest wraps up Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Morrisville Shopping Center with pictures with Santa, free hot chocolate and fun seasonal activities.
Lower Bucks Drive-Thru House Tours
Dec. 4 to 25, countywide
This community effort is back for a second year. It was born out of a desire to keep safe and have some holiday fun last year in the pandemic. A Bucks resident coordinated lists of festively decorated homes and shared the routes on Facebook. There were several routes depending on the part of the county you want to visit. The lists are provided free of charge. Lists are still being coordinated this year and suggestions are still being taken. Hanukkah celebration in Warminster
Hanukkah celebration will be special and historic this year for the vibrant Jewish community at Ann’s Choice, the Erickson Senior Living community at 30000 Ann’s Choice Way in Warminster. There will be an outdoor dedication and lighting of the menorah every night of Hanukkah. All are welcome.
43nd annual Holiday Festival of the Trees at Pearl S. Buck House
Now through Jan. 8 at 520 Dublin Road, Hilltown.
Each year, the rooms of the Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie come to life with the incredible glow of holiday decor. Tickets are required for the tours, which showcase trees and vignettes designed by local artists, decorators and community groups. This National Historic Landmark is the perfect setting to ring in the holiday season. The Festival of Trees remains one of the most unique and historic holiday traditions in the region. The community holiday open house is set for Dec. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. It features entertainment, complimentary tours of the Festival of Trees, and the announcement of the Festival of Trees contest winners.
The Holiday Craft Show from Nov. 25 to Dec. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., has been a Bucks County tradition for almost three decades. Enjoy a unique shopping experience at this hig-end craft show which offers jury-selected gifts, decorations, food, jewelry, apparel, and more from professional crafters, artists, and chefs. The Holiday Craft Show is the perfect place to find an array of amazing holiday gifts for your family and friends. Tickets $5.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Presents Classic Christmas Play

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Yardley will present Thornton Wilder’s one act play "The Long Christmas Dinner" on Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the church at 54 W. Afton Ave,
Wilder breaks the boundaries of time and invites us to join the Bayard family during one long Christmas dinner as generations of their family appear and depart. In just 35 minutes, The Long Christmas Dinner represents the lived experiences of nine decades. The show includes a cast of professional actors of stage and screen alongside talented parishioners, under the direction of Gary Sloan.

A Very Furry Christmas,' Hanukkah and Kwanza at Sesame Place

A Very Furry Christmas Celebration at Sesame Place is a festive, family-friendly celebration. The park is transformed into a one-of-a-kind Christmas wonderland with millions of twinkling lights and festive decorations all around.
At the center of the 1-2-3 Christmas Tree show is a 30-foot, fully illuminated pixel-based tree, which will project festive animated images while guests can dance along to a festive holiday soundtrack — all making for the ultimate light show experience. Take a photo with Santa, visit the new Christmas Family Fun Zone.
Guests visiting the park from Dec. 18-25 can celebrate the Festival of Lights with Sesame Place’s Hanukkah Celebration. Join a local cantor, Baby Bear, Grover, and more Sesame Street friends for games of dreidel and a Menorah Lighting Ceremony.
Only on Dec. 24, guests can gather on Sesame Neighborhood for the ‘Twas the Night Celebration, a spirited Christmas Eve send-off for Santa Claus on the night of his Big Ride.
Each night of Kwanzaa, Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, guests are invited to join their favorite furry friends for a Kwanzaa Celebration, including a special story time and Kinara Lighting Ceremony in the Sesame Street Neighborhood.
Sesame Place will ring in 2023 with its dazzling “C…is for Celebrate!” New Year’s Eve Fireworks on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 7 p.m.

Christmas in Doylestown
This year’s tour takes place 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3. Snow date is Dec. 4, 1 to 5 p.m. The tour is best done as a driving tour as a complete circuit is roughly 2.5 miles.
After a two-year hiatus due to COVID concerns, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Doylestown invites the community to enjoy a rare look into some of Doylestown Borough’s historic homes, decorated for the holidays.
Advance tickets are on sale through Nov. 30 for $40 and may be purchased at the parish office, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Doylestown Bookshop or online at https://www.stpaulsdoylestown.org/cid-2022.

Temple Judea in Doylestown celebrates Hanukkah
Sunday Dec. 18
Temple Judea Reform Synagogue of Doylestown and jkidphilly will host a Hanukkah event and ceremonial menorah lighting for the Jewish community of Bucks County on Sunday, Dec. 18, the first night of Hanukkah, from 1-3 p.m. at the corner of State and Hamilton Streets in Doylestown. The event is for all ages and will feature singing and dancing with Rabbi Sigal Brier and Dan Khan, cookie decorating, goodie bags, a raffle basket and refreshments.
In lieu of a traditional menorah lighting with candles or lights, children will be decorating flame hats and will line up to form a menorah for the celebration. There will also be a large dreidel placed at the corner of State and Hamilton streets to commemorate Hanukkah. “We love gathering around the giant sevivon (dreidel) to sing, dance and have doughnuts, said Rabbi Sigal Brier. "It is always great fun for people of all ages."
The North Pole Express & Santa’s Steam Train Ride
Now through Dec. 24 at the New Hope Railroad, 32 W. Bridge St., New Hope.
Sip hot chocolate and enjoy a freshly baked cookie while singing along with the railroad’s roaming musicians as they play Christmas carols on these two rides. Meet with Santa on the steam locomotive pulling Santa’s Steam Train Ride and share your Christmas wishes with him. Victorian Holiday House Tour at Grundy Museum

The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum presents its third annual Victorian Holiday House Tour. For the first time, the entire museum will be decorated with exquisite Victorian displays. The museum is thrilled to once again partner with designer Jimmy Bason Gilpatrick, proprietor of Bristol’s Bird of Paradise Flowers. Featured are a magnificent collection of nutcrackers owned by Bristol Riverside Theater's Senior Director of Relationships, David Abers; a Byers' Choice Collection; vintage toys from Canal's End Antiques; Lenox China owned by the Quattrocchi family of Bristol Borough; and so much more! Holidays at Fonthill Castle

This historic Doylestown location is offering a three different holiday experiences. This includes daily tours of the holiday decorated Fonthill Castle, a Holiday Lights Meander featuring your own 30-minute exploration of the castle’s beautiful Christmas decorations on Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 4 to 19 and special tours on Christmas and New Year's Eve, and, if you would like a more structured option, they are offering guided evening tours Dec. 8, 15, 22, 28 and 29. Vineyard Illumination and Holiday Celebration on Bucks County Wine Trail
The holiday season is the perfect time for mulled wines and festive cookies. The seven wineries of the Bucks County Wine Trail have plenty of each to help ring in the holidays. Come and celebrate during the annual Holiday Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11.
Visitors can experience the beauty of the wineries decorated for the holidays while enjoying delicious spiced wines, sampling Christmas cookies and artisanal cheeses, and relaxing with the sounds of holiday music. Added bonus: guests can get a jump start on holiday shopping with special discount pricing, wine gift packs, gift baskets and unique wine accessories.
The Holiday Celebration is also the kickoff for Light Up the Vines, the third annual vineyard illumination. Light Up the Vines continues through Jan. 1.

Holidays at Peddler's Village

Peddler’s Village is full of holiday spirit during the wintertime, offering many different experiences throughout this festive season. “A Christmas Carol,” performed by Gerald Dickens, Charles Dickens' great-great-grandson, will return after last year's virtual performance. It is his 18th year delighting audiences in Bucks. Tickets are $28.
"During his energetic one-man show, Dickens brings "A Christmas Carol" to life. He leaps, he sobs, he laughs . . . as he entertains . . . depicting 26 characters of the classic tale, with just a table, wing chair, and hat rack accompanying him on stage."

Christmas Day Reenactment at Washington Crossing Historic Park
Dec. 25, noon to 3 p.m., routes 532 and 32 (River Road)
Held every year on Christmas Day at the location of Washington’s Delaware River crossing is a reenactment of the treacherous crossing itself. During the event, several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by Gen. Washington and then row across the river in replica Durham boats. It is free to attend.
River crossings are contingent upon safe conditions for participants. However, even if conditions do not allow for crossing, ceremonies, speeches and commemorative activities still occur.
The 70th annual Christmas Day crossing at approximately 1 p.m., and it is recommended that visitors arrive well before 1 p.m. to ensure a good place along the viewing line. Can't make the Christmas Day event? Another crossing will be held Sunday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (crossing at 1 p.m.) with special activities. On this day, in addition to the crossing, special colonial-era activities and demonstrations throughout the historic village will provide families with a full day of fun and learning.

Bucks County Choral Society Christmas concert
Dec. 10 and 11
The Bucks County Choral Society will present its revival of the 1988 Christmas cantata by acclaimedopera composer Richard Wargo at its popular Christmas concerts Dec. 10 and 11 at OurLady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown.
Celebrating the choir’s 50th anniversary season, the program will feature the revival of an early work by Wargo, a Christmas cantata, "Voices in the Mist." There will be two performances: 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. Dec. 10, with a handbell prelude at 7 p.m. and 4 to 5:45 p.m. Dec. 11 with the prelude at 3:30 p.m.
The choral society’s annual Christmas concerts have been a beloved Bucks County institution ever since the late Elma Heckler established the tradition soon after she was appointed artistic director in 1977. The Wargo work will be accompanied by an ensemble of 10 winds and brass from the professional training orchestra Symphony in C. The bright holiday sounds of the Quadrants Handbell Quartet will ring in the concert with a prelude of carol arrangements. Quartet Iris in Solebury
Dec. 1
Back by popular demand, the illustrious Quartet Iris will serenade members of the Delaware Valley Music Club, their guests, and the general public at its holiday concert and tea 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury.
Quartet Iris consists of four outstanding musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra’s string section, who got together in 2019 and formed their separate “Iris” group to delight concertgoers throughout the Philadelphia area, in addition to their regular performances with the orchestra.
Violist Che-Hung Chen of Taiwan was a founding member of the Daedalus Quartet and also regularly participates in the Marlboro and Kingston Chamber Music Festivals. Christine Lin, born in Seoul, South Korea, studied at the Curtis Institute and New England Conservatory and is the winner of several international violin competitions. Julia Li, who began her violin studies in China at the age of seven, moved to the United States and later received degrees from the Curtis Institute and Juilliard. In addition to solo recitals, she has performed with the Dolce Suono Ensemble, as well as the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Umi Kendall made her solo debut at the Kennedy Center at age 16 with the National Symphony Orchestra, and has been the Philadelphia Orchestra’s assistant principal cellist since 2004

Tile Works holds classes, sells toy bricks

The Tile Works in Doylestown has added one more session of its sold out annual ornament making class. Reserve your spot on Nov. 29. Using the traditional sgraffito techniques, you will scratch away a top layer of slip revealing your design in the red earthenware clay below. Staff will provide pre-cut ornaments coated with slip and fire your work for you. Participants will make 5 redware ornaments to decorate the tree! Ages 17 and up are welcome. Pet picture with Santa

Has your pet been naughty or nice? The Family Service Association of Bucks County Pet Pantry invites you to find out, by stopping by our ‘Santa Paws’ event, which will take place noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 at Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, located at 909 Ray Avenue, Croydon, Pa. 19021.

Santa to comes to Fred Beans dealerships
The Fred Beans Automotive Group invites customers to enjoy free photos and fun with Santa Claus at select Pennsylvania and New Jersey locations. When you stop by, bring a non-perishable food item to spread some goodwill as we continue to work together to fight hunger in our communities.
Throughout December, all Fred Beans locations will once again donate a portion of each sale and service bill to one of five food pantries serving areas where the automotive group operates. Dealerships will also collect canned goods and other nonperishable food items to add to the total number of meals provided through this donation drive. The goal is to sponsor 50,000 meals or more.

Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Fred Beans Subaru of Doylestown, 854 N. Easton Road
Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Fred Beans Kia of Langhorne, 1801 Lincoln Hwy.
