Bucks County Memorial Day weekend forecast warming up. What you need to know

After a span of unseasonably cool weather this spring, the unofficial start to summer this holiday weekend is looking sunny.

For those who want a warm up, Monday is looking like your best day with the National Weather Service calling for mostly sunny skies and a high of 80 degrees. There's a slight chance of showers Monday night.

Saturday and Sunday look promising too with a forecast of highs of 76 degrees and 78 degrees respectively. Keep the sunscreen at the ready as cloud coverage will be minimal.

For those staying in Bucks County for the Memorial Day weekend, there is plenty to do. Towns across Bucks are hosting Memorial Day parades and events to honor those who served and sacrificed.

AAA predicts nearly 500,000 Philadelphia-area residents, including thousands from Bucks and Montgomery counties, will be traveling a distance of 50 miles or more this holiday weekend. Nearly 90% will be hitting the roads, and air travel is predicted to increase nearly 9% over 2022, with nearly 42,000 Philadelphia-area residents expected to fly to their destinations this year, according to AAA.

“The TSA has warned travelers that it expects summer travel numbers at checkpoints to be ‘Comfortably Above’ pre-pandemic levels,” says AAA Mid-Atlantic spokesperson Jana Tidwell. “If the Memorial Day forecast numbers are an indicator for what we can expect for the summer, it could be a very busy season at the airports.”

For those planning to head to the Jersey shore this Memorial Day, the weather forecast includes the chance of some rain Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service. It will also be cooler at the shore with temperatures in the mid-60s warming up to about 70 degrees by Monday.
