This Bucks County shop was voted best in our Pizza Week poll. What to know before you go
Lou Vera’s passion for cooking shows through what he’s built at The Valley Pizza in Bensalem.
“I fell in love with the kitchen when I was a little kid. My mom taught me to cook,” Vera said. “I put my heart into it. I explain that in my shop, to my cooks, everyone. I do this because I love it. I love being in the pizza business.”
Through this devotion to food, Vera was able to develop several recipes throughout the years he is proud of and happily shares with a community that he said has strongly supported his shop since it opened in Bensalem in 2009.
And thanks to its growing community of loyal customers, The Valley Pizza was voted the best Bucks County pizza shop in our National Pizza Week readers’ poll with more than 14,000 votes.
“I’m very honored to serve the Bensalem area and to have very good customers who have always been loyal to me,” Vera said after learning the results of the poll.
“I always work very hard to make this feel like home, to make sure everybody is happy. And my team is always here, serving the customers, cooking everything right. I’m very grateful for them. It’s all about teamwork here at The Valley to provide a good experience for the customers,” he added.
As readers nominated their favorite shops to be included in the poll, they also told us why their chosen shop stood out above the rest. For The Valley Pizza, many said they loved it for its consistently good food, inviting atmosphere, kind owner and caring staff.
One called the shop family-oriented, friendly and accommodating. “Food is the best around, no one else can compare to the freshness and love that is put into each dish.”
