Bucks County St. Patrick's Day Parade in Levittown caps weeklong festivities

The festivities of St. Patrick's Day began on Saturday, March 4 and the weeklong celebration will end with the 34th annual Bucks County St. Patrick's Day Parade, party and a pageant on Saturday, March 11.

Here are the details for a packed Saturday.

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday outside of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School on Wistar Road and then make its way out to New Falls Road. The parade will cross Oxford Valley Road and then Hood Boulevard before ending at Levittown American baseball fields.

Bishop Egan High School graduate to serve as grand marshal

Former Conwell-Egan Catholic High School trustee, board member and Bishop Egan High School class of 1972 graduate Tom Lynch will serve as grand marshal for the parade.

Lynch became president of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in 2019.

Lynch and his wife, Patty, established the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation nonprofit, which invests in two giving areas: education and critical community services.

"In 2013 we established the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation with the purpose to help unleash the potential of people in our community," Lynch said. "We grew up and continue to live in the Bucks County area of Philadelphia, benefitting from wonderful families and friends, strong communities, and a values-based Catholic education."

Irish Mass, Hoolie bookends St. Patrick's Day Parade celebrations

Before the parade kicks off, an Irish Mass will be d celebrated 8 a.m. at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School.

An after-parade "hoolie" — a rousing party featuring traditional music and food — will begin at 1 p.m. at the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division #1 Center at 614 Corson St. in Bristol.

The Miss Irish Finalist — selected among contestants Ava Leeb from Bristol High School, along with Conwell-Egan Catholic High School contestants Maggie Murphy and Julia Wade — will also make an appearance.

The finalist was selected during last weekend's Irish Ball, held at the La Luna Banquet Hall in Bensalem.

Other St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Bucks County

There are other St. Patrick's Day celebrations this week and further out in Bucks County:

2023 Newtown Irish Festival at the Green Parrot Pub, 240 N. Sycamore Street, Newtown: A weeklong set of festivities.

St. Paddy's Unwind Weekend at Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley: events scheduled for March 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18 and will feature Irish music, food, locally brewed craft beer and an outdoor activity section for children.

St. Patrick's Day Uncorked! With Grover Silcox at McCoole's Arts and Events Space, 4 S. Main Street, Quakertown: Wilcox, a comedic Actor and media personality hosts this Irish-themed variety show. Silcox will have shows on the 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th.
