Bucks secure shutout with pair in third

Jan. 20—CROMWELL — Eric Lemieux and Braiden George scored third- period goals as E. O. Smith/ Tolland blanked Rocky Hill, 3- 0, in a Central Connecticut Conference South Division boys hockey game on Wednesday.

Lemieux scored 4:18 into the third with an assist from Louis Bourquin to give the Bucks ( 4- 6, 3- 4 league). George added insurance with 2:48 remaining.

Carter Pelletier had a pair of assists and Tegan Mabrysmith made 24 saves for E. O. Smith/ Tolland, which returns to the ice on Saturday for a non-conference game at the Norwich Ice Rink against the Eastern CT Eagles.

WRESTLING

Patrick Dunko ( 220 pounds) pinned his opponent 47 seconds into the first period and RHAM won seven matches via pinfall in a 48- 31 CCC East Division victory over Enfield in Hebron.

Daren Gagnon ( 106), Michael Guerriero ( 120), Kyle Currier (132), Gavin Plourde ( 138), Jeremy Devine (160) and Zackary Syme (195) also recorded pins for the Raptors (152, 3- 0 league), who are ranked No.9 in this week's Connecticut Wrestling Online state poll.

Jacob Pacheco (120) and Naveen Rodriguez ( 132) recorded pins for Coventry in a 57-18 North Central Connecticut Conference loss to Somers.
