Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo chases down LeBron James for a block that you can add to his highlight reel

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers got the best of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in a game that featured stars on and off the court Friday night at Fiserv Forum.

But Antetokounmpo did get the best of James on a block that you can add to the collection of must-see plays on YouTube from the Bucks' two-time MVP.

After a turnover by Antetokounmpo midway through the fourth quarter with the Bucks trailing 112-110, it appeared James would have a clear-cut fast-break basket.

Not so fast.

James picked up the loose ball, then navigated his way down the left side of the court, moved past Grayson Allen and then weaved around Jrue Holiday. He appeared to be in the clear for a left-handed layup. There was just one problem for the Lakers superstar: Anetetokounmpo doesn't give up on plays.

As James was eyeing the basket, Antetokounmpo methodically monitored James from the middle of the court. He was waiting to strike. Finally, as James went up, Antetokounmpo took off behind him. He swatted the ball with a powerful right-handed spike as if he were a volleyball player making the perfect kill.

The force took Antetokounmpo to the floor. The ball went right into the hands of Allen and the Bucks were off to the races.

Twitter (at least Bucks and Giannis fans) loved it.

Antetokounmpo is no stranger to massive blocks. No one will ever forget his denial of Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton in Game 4 of the 2021 NBA Finals to help seal a Bucks win on their way to the championship.

Of course, James has executed his own historic block.

His chase-down block of Andre Iguodala late in of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals will be among the many video highlights on his Hall of Fame reel.

In Friday's game, James finished with 28 points on 12 of 27 shooting, including two huge three-pointers late in the fourth quarter to propel the Lakers to the win.

Antetokounmpo put on a show as well, totaling 40 points on 16 of 23 shooting. He had seven rebounds and five assists and one memorable block.

Brook Lopez has huge two-handed block on Anthony Davis

Antetokounmpo's block was the first of two massive defensive rejections for the Bucks on Friday.

About a minute later, Brook Lopez's block of Anthony Davis' two-handed dunk attempt had the crowd going bananas.

Russell Westbrook led a fast break for the Lakers and as three Bucks flocked toward him in the paint – including Antetokounmpo, who was eyeing up another block – he dished it to a trailing Davis. As Davis got the ball, Lopez turned around to face him and went up with two hands. Stuffed.

That block led to a fast-break dunk for Antetokounmpo, who took off from the free-throw line as he got the pass from Holiday. That powerful thrown-down tied the game at 114 and Fiserv Forum erupted.
