Budapest Mayor Tarlos concedes defeat to opposition challenger

BUDAPEST, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Ruling party incumbent Istvan Tarlos conceded defeat in the Budapest mayoral election to opposition challenger Gergely Karacsony on Sunday.

"On the national level, the result is nice, but in Budapest, there is thinking to be done," Tarlos told a news conference flanked by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. "Budapest made the decision to elect Gergely Karacsony today." (Reporting by Gergely Szakacs; Editing by Peter Cooney)
