A concert this weekend featuring legendary blues artist Buddy Guy has been canceled, his management team announced Wednesday.

The octogenarian was set to perform Saturday at Silver Star Convention Center near Philadelphia, Mississippi, Pearl River Resort officials said in a news release.

The show was part of his "Damn Right Farewell" tour.

“Due to an unforeseen necessary medical procedure, Buddy has been advised by his team to cancel his performance this weekend at Pearl River Resort," Guy's management team said. "We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to reschedule a new performance date in 2024.”

The Louisiana native is known for songs like "First Time I Met the Blues," "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "Damn Right I Got the Blues."

Pearl River Resort officials said guests who purchased tickets through etix.com will automatically be issued a full refund. Anyone with questions should contact the ticket vendor's customer support link at support.etix.com.

As of Thursday, none of Guy's other concerts have been canceled, including a show in Tupelo on Sept. 15.

Other recent concert cancellations in Mississippi include:

  • Luke Bryan, who was set to perform Aug. 13 in Brandon, canceled the concert the day of the show.

  • Morgan Wallen also canceled his April show in Oxford at the last minute.
