Buffalo Under Flood Warning as Strong Winds Cause Lake Seiche

A flood warning was issued for areas of Buffalo, New York, along the shore of Lake Erie on Friday, March 26, as strong winds caused a lake seiche and power outages in the region.

Footage shared by Fort Erie resident Denis Kreze shows strong gusts splashing waves over a damaged wall along the lake’s shoreline. “River’s rising and Buffalo shoreline is getting hammered with huge waves,” he wrote in a tweet.
