Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot still in the works

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's on-off reboot is still is being worked on, according to Dolly Parton.
The iconic singer might seem like an odd person to have insider info, but she actually served as a producer on the original series through her company Sandollar Television.
Speaking about the reboot, which first went into development in 2018 before being put on an indefinite pause in 2022, Dolly told Business Insider that: "They're still working on that.
"They're thinking about bringing it back and revamping it."

As well as this promising, if vague, update, Dolly also told the publication about her memories of the groundbreaking teen drama/horror series.
Even though she didn't get to visit the set or meet the cast very often due to living in a different state and her busy schedule, she said she was still "very involved" and sent Christmas gifts to the actors.
"That show was pretty much run by other people," she says. "I have to give more people credit on Buffy the Vampire Slayer than me. A lot of people did so much work on that," she said.

"A lot of my work was done just conversing back and forth with the business people there, and I'd go out for meetings now and then. I didn't get to meet all of the people, but I wanted them to know that I was there for them, I was proud of them, and they were doing a great job.
"I was very excited about the show. That little show did great."
Multiple cast members recently returned for an official audio drama focusing on Spike and featuring some multiverse shenanigans.
