The best thing about Legos is that you can use them to build pretty much anything. Everything from simple race car sets to full-size, running, driving Bugatti Chirons. One creator discovered that by using the pieces from Lego Technic's Porsche 911 GT3 RS kit, you can build an equally life-like Lancia Stratos Stradale HF.

The design was created by a user on Rebrickable, a site dedicated to making alternative builds on existing Lego kits. It uses 2197 pieces total, and features an interior, a steering system, a working five-speed manual gearbox, a transverse V-6 engine, and independent suspension all-around. The front and rear clamshells (as well as the doors) open to give the viewer a good look at what's underneath. Everything's incredibly well-proportioned and nicely thought-out—almost as if it was an official kit. Here's what it looks like in green:

Now here comes the bad part: The price. If you don't already own a Technic GT3 RS kit, that'll run you $300 new. And to get your hands on the directions to transform it into a Stratos, that's another €15 ($17 at current exchange rates). Still, for what you're getting, it's not too unreasonable. And you get to have a scale model of one of the coolest rally cars ever built on your desk. We'd say that's worth it.
