Bull-riding comes to Thibodaux

Rodeo returns to Thibodaux Saturday with 8 Seconds to Glory Champion Bull Riding.

It's scheduled for 7-11 p.m. at the Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium, 310 N. Canal Blvd. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $22 to $30, with children 12 and under $7. They're available at ticketmaster.com or at the auditorium box office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For informartion, call the box office at 446-7260.

The event is sponsored by the Thibodaux Regional Cancer Institute.

Laugh with Mutzie

Enjoy an evening of laughter with award-winning Christian comedian Mutzie Live this Saturday in Lockport.

The New Orleans comedian will perform a free show from 7-11 p.m. at Holy Savior Catholic Church, 201 Church St.

Mutzie has appeared on six seasons of BET’s "Comic View" and was named New Orleans Entertainer of the Year twice.

Get tips for healthy living

A free wellness expo is scheduled for 12-6 p.m. Thursday at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, 346 Civic Center Blvd., Houma.

Local health organizations will offer tips for mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Attend a country concert

Baton Rouge-based country band Parish County Line will perform an oudoor concert Thursday night in downtown Thibodaux.

It's scheduled for 5-10 p.m. on La. 1 between Jackson and Canal streets.

Tickets, $20, are available at eventbrite.com. Proceeds benefit Nicholls State University's athletics programs.

It's the first in a series of Downtown Sounds concerts coming to Thibodaux.

Join a 5K run or cook-off

The fifth annual Huddle Up 50! 5K Run and Walk and Tailgate Cook-off is scheduled Saturday at Nicholls State University.

The run's 1-mile route passes through the Thibodaux campus and finishes on the 50-yard line of John L. Guidry Stadium.

Visit Lafourche Central Market

The Lafourche Central Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, offering homegrown and homemade items.

It's at 4484 La. 1, underneath the U.S. 90 overpass.

Shop vegetables and fruits, baked goods, meats, eggs, honey, sweets, seafood, cracklins and crafts.
