Bulldogs headed to New Mexico Bowl

(KSEE/KGPE) – After winning eight games in the regular season, the Fresno State football team was always assured of playing in a bowl game. On Sunday, it was announced that the Bulldogs will play in the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, December 16th.

The opponent is New Mexico State (10-4).

Fresno State (8-4) will be making its fourth trip to the New Mexico Bowl, with the most recent appearance being in 2021.

“It’s great to welcome Fresno State back to the Isleta New Mexico Bowl,” said New Mexico Bowl Executive Director Jeff Siembieda in a news release. “Having appeared in the national polls this season with wins over the Mountain West champion and runner-up, as well as victories over a Big Ten and Pac-12 team, the Bulldogs had an impressive season.”

Interestingly enough, Fresno State is scheduled to face New Mexico State in a non-conference game next season, on September 14th, 2024 in Fresno.
