Bulldogs report: Tosten helps UMD roll past Minot State on Senior Day at Bulldog Park

May 3—Junior Tosten Mann had three hits, a run and two RBIs to lead Minnesota Duluth to a 10-5 victory over Minot State in NSIC baseball Sunday on Senior Day before 88 at Bulldog Park.

Mccale Peterson had two doubles and Henry George and Anders Brown added a double apiece as the Bulldogs had 13 hits. All three players had two hits in addition to Trevor Gustafson while Russ Tanner allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings to get the pitching win for the Bulldogs (13-22 overall, 10-19 NSIC).

Kaiden Cardoso had two hits and two runs and Dillon Buckmeier had a two-run single to lead the Beavers (20-14, 18-11).

SOFTBALL

Cull, Mustangs corral Bulldogs for pair of victories

Megan Cull earned a pair of pitching wins to lead Southwest Minnesota State to an 8-0 and 4-3 sweep in NSIC softball at Mustang Field in Marshall, Minnesota.

The opener only lasted five innings as Cull held the Bulldogs to three hits while striking out three while Bailey Johnson led the offense with three hits, including two doubles, two runs and three RBIs.

The second game went eight innings as Cull earned the win in relief as the Mustangs scored on an error to win it.

Kali Tomlinson and Jillian Noel had two hits apiece to lead Southwest Minnesota State (25-15 overall, 16-10 NSIC).

Lauren Oberle, Emma Frost and Sidney Zavoral had two hits apiece to lead UMD (27-13, 17-9) while Sam Pederson took the loss despite allowing just three earned runs while striking out six.
