Bullet found near cafeteria bathrooms at Myrtle Beach Middle School before student’s arrest, report says

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A bullet being found by a bathroom led to a Myrtle Beach Middle School student being detained for having a gun in school last week, according to a police report obtained by News13.

The boy faces three felony charges including pointing/presenting a firearm at a person, carrying or displaying a firearm in a public building and carrying a weapon on school property.

A student reported just after 8 a.m. Tuesday to administration about finding a bullet by the cafeteria bathrooms, according to the report. The school resource officer was contacted and started an investigation.

Shortly after, school administration noticed the boy “acting strangely” and he was pulled for a search, the report said. While walking with staff, two bullets fell out of his pants.

He was immediately brought to the office where he was searched and the school resource officer found a pistol and a loaded magazine, according to the report.
