'It's a bummer': Xperience Fitness abruptly closes all Wisconsin locations
Xperience Fitness will permanently close all its Wisconsin locations effective Thursday night, the company said in an email to its members.
The email said that membership will be automatically transferred to a Planet Fitness location. Membership perks like the Black Card amenities will be honored throughout July, the company said, and operations will continue in Minnesota.
The reason for the closure has not been shared, and the company did not immediately respond to questions. In a Facebook post, the company said "this was an incredibly difficult decision and we apologize about this unfortunate news."
Xperience Fitness has locations in Greenfield, West Allis, Hales Corners, Brookfield, Waukesha, Green Bay and Appleton.
"It's a bummer," said Eddie Juarez-Perez, who often went to the West Allis location to work out. "I upgraded to this gym from Planet Fitness in the summer of 2021 when I started to take my fitness much more seriously," he said.
