Bunch given 15-years for burglary, theft as career offender
Apr. 22—A Crossville man with a criminal history entered guilty pleas to a burglary and series of thefts that resulted in him being identified as a career offender who must serve 15 years in prison at 60%.
Dakota Eugene Bunch, 30, who in the past listed a Bradford Dr. address, pleaded guilty to informations charging burglary, two counts of theft of property of $10,000 to $60,000 and theft of property of $2,500 to $10,000.
Bunch was captured on surveillance video breaking into the Crossville Police Department's storage building at the city shooting range on Jan. 25.
He was taken into custody and later confessed to the burglary.
The theft charges stem from items taken in that break-in, items stolen on Nov. 28, 2023, on the Mitchell farm off Hwy. 70 N. and with being in possession of a tractor stolen in Fentress County on Jan. 23.
Bunch will be responsible for restitution to be determined and is banned from contact with the victims. Court costs in all the cases were waived. He is being given credit for 34 days already served in jail.
