The new Bundesliga season has started, and Premier League viewers will see a familiar face if they tune in following Harry Kane's high-profile move to play in the top flight of men's football in Germany.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker signed for Bayern Munich in a reported €100 million transfer (a record for the Bundesliga) over the summer, making his debut the very same day in the DFL-Supercup game (the closest counterpart to the Community Shield in German football).

Harry has also already scored his first goal for his new club, so seems to be settling in nicely already as Bayern look to defend yet another Bundesliga title (having won 11 times in a row, and 33 times in total). Can anyone break their winning streak? Here's how you can tune in for the new season.

Bundesliga table

The best place to keep up to date with the Bundesliga table is here, on its official website. The top flight is home to 18 clubs, two of whom will be relegated each year and replaced with two teams promoted from the German league's second division, 2. Bundesliga.

This season, you can say hello to last season's 2. Bundesliga champions, 1. FC Heidenheim (who are making their debut in the top flight), and SV Darmstadt 98, who return for the first time since the 2016/17 season. FC Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC of Berlin were the two teams relegated to 2. Bundesliga at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Bundesliga fixtures

Expect 34 matchdays this season, with the final round of games taking place on May 18, 2024.

Again, the Bundesliga website has a comprehensive fixtures and results page, as you'd expect, and you can even buy tickets if you're able to make it to a game in person.

Bundesliga – watch live in the UK

Sky Sports is now the place to watch live Bundesliga matches in the UK and Ireland this season and next, after taking over the rights in 2021 for a four-season deal.

Bundesliga games usually air on the Sky Sports Football channel, with upcoming highlights including Bayern Munich's visit to FC Augsburg on August 27. Coverage starts at 4.30pm UK time. Some games air on other channels in Sky's 11-strong sports network.

As well as the Bundesliga and Premier League, Sky's sports coverage also includes selected Women's Super League matches, plus EFL, Scottish Premiership, and Carabao Cup games. It also broadcasts Formula 1, IndyCar races, cricket including The Hundred, golf, and just got the rights to the US Open tennis.

Watch the Bundesliga with ESPN+ in the US

In the United States, you'll need to subscribe to the ESPN+ streaming service if you want to watch the Bundesliga.

The ESPN+ team also includes contributions from former Premier League stars such as Didi Hamann and Shaka Hislop. It's also trying something new this season called Goal Arena – Bundesliga Konferenz, a 90-minute studio programme promising "all must-see moments of all games played simultaneously, including goals, big chances and game-changing plays".

ESPN+ signed a long-term deal to broadcast the Bundesliga back in 2020, and carries live and on-demand replay coverage of over 300 matches per season in both English and Spanish. You can also see the DFL Supercup game and some 2. Bundesliga games, along with highlights and magazine programming for the league.

Bundesliga – who has the TV rights where I live?

The Bundesliga website's got a page that can help you with that.

Note that some countries share rights, as is the case with the Premier League in the UK. For example, in Germany, the broadcast rights are split between Sky Deutschland, DAZN, Sat.1 and Sport.1, whereas Sky is the sole rights holder in Italy.
