Get the shovels out again. More lake-effect snow is in the forecast for Erie County
Single-digit temperatures this weekend aren't enough; now half a foot of snow is in the forecast for much of Erie County.
The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a winter weather advisory for the county from Saturday at midnight through Sunday at 7 p.m. Lake-effect snow will accumulate from 3 inches to 6 inches, with higher totals possible in some areas.

An additional one inch to 2 inches is possible during the day Monday, and one inch to 3 inches of wet snow Monday night, according to the weather service forecast.

The advisory follows a cold snap to start the weekend. The temperature at Erie International Airport fell into single digits before 9 p.m. Friday and bottomed out at 3 degrees just before 5 a.m. Saturday, when the wind chill measured a bitter minus 11.

While Saturday's high will reach near 26 and the low will only be around 19, the wind chill could dip to minus 6, according to the weather service forecast. A south wind of 9 to 16 mph is likely.
Snow showers could start late Saturday night, continuing into Sunday, adding to places that received as much as 2 feet earlier in the week.

Sunday's high temperature is expected to be around 24, with a low near 11.
There is an increasing chance of snow showers Monday, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 28 and a low around 22, according to the weather service.
Temperatures will start to tumble again Tuesday, with a forecast low of 10 that night and a low of 6 on Wednesday.
