Bunnell to run against McNally in Montville mayoral race

Jul. 26—MONTVILLE — Democratic Town Councilor Lenny Bunnell will run against Republican Town Councilor Thomas McNally in the race for mayor this fall.

Bunnell is a retired Montville police lieutenant while McNally is the Republican Town Committee chairman.

The two were among the candidates that have been endorsed by the Democratic and Republican town committees.

In the race for Town Council, Democrats endorsed incumbents Kate Southard, former mayor and councilor Joe Jaskiewicz, Billy Caron, and Timothy May along with newcomer Nick Sabilia.

The Republicans endorsed incumbents, McNally, Alfred Mandler and Robert Yuchniuk and newcomers, Frank Miceli, Kevin Lathrop and Sheelagh Lapinski.

Endorsements for the Board of Education include candidates for four-year and two-year terms.

Democrats endorsed incumbent Carol Burgess and newcomer Bonnie Bacon for four-year terms and newcomer Erika Striebel for a two-year term. Republicans endorsed incumbent Robert Mitchell and newcomers Gilbert Maffeo and Donna Funk for four-year terms and Lisa Terry for a two-year term.
