Bunny breakfast to benefit Abington Heights class of ’24

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Skimming out of winter and hopping right into spring with a local easter-themed event.

Kids took part in an easter egg hunt at the third annual Abington Heights Bunny Breakfast.

Easter eggs were scattered on the lawn outside Abington Heights High School and families also got to enjoy breakfast.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the senior class at Abington Heights.

“It’s good for them to be with everybody and have a good time. They know they’re going to get tickets,” said Linda Salvia her grandchildren took part in the Easter egg hunt.

“We love seeing how the kids are so happy when they see the easter bunny and they run onto the field for the eggs. our students and volunteers love it. Actually, I don’t even have to ask for volunteers. Sometimes they just volunteer themselves because they love helping out,” explained Ryanna Avvisato a senior at Abington Heights High School.

The Abington Heights class of 2024 will use proceeds from the bunny breakfast to offset the cost of graduation and senior week events.
