Bunton, Petree new owners of Fastsigns of Aiken

Sep. 19—Fastsigns of Aiken has new owners.

Ken Bunton, a mechanical engineer, and Brian Petree, a biomedical engineer, recently acquired the sign and graphics business.

During their careers, the Fastsigns franchisees previously have been colleagues.

"It was the first thing we found where all the numbers worked out," said Bunton of their Fastsigns collaboration in a prepared statement. "We always talked about buying a business together because we worked so well together, and now here we are."

Bunton is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and Petree is a University of Tennessee alumnus.

The two men have experience in automation design, robotics, high-volume manufacturing and leading large teams to solve complex problems, according to the release.

Bunton and Petree have earned Project Management Professional certifications, and Bunton also is Six Sigma-certified.

Dominic Martin, who has been with Fastsigns of Aiken since its establishment in 2019, is continuing to serve as production manager. Other staff members include Installers Greg Fincher and Dan Martin, Production Specialist Tom Simpson and Visual Communications Specialist Julia Miller.

Bunton's wife, Krystal, and Petree's wife, Brentney, will be involved in the business in the areas of accounting and customer relations.

Fastsigns of Aiken is at 2569 Whiskey Road and is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
