Burbank OKs $5/hour 'hazard pay' for frontline workers

The city of Burbank is ordering some stores to pay frontline workers an extra $5 an hour in hazard pay during the pandemic.

- Burbank has just adopted a hazard pay ordinance. The Burbank City Council approved the pay that temporarily requires grocery and drug stores to provide an additional $5 per hour to certain employees as compensation for the hazards that they face during the pandemic. The new ordinance will take effect on June 18 and will last for 60 days.
