Burger King’s breakfast croissant to be sold for 1 cent on 1 day only

Burger King is planning to hold a royal court in honor of National Croissant Day.

Yes, there’s a holiday dedicated to the flaky, crescent-shaped French pastry — and it falls on Jan. 30 each year.

The fast-food giant announced this week its plan to sell the iconic Croissan’wich — featuring egg, cheese and a choice of meat (bacon, sausage or Black Forest ham) — for just 1 cent, and for one day only.

The penny-loving deal is available during regular breakfast hours to Royal Perks members when they place an order of $1 or more on the Burger King mobile app or on BK.com. The offer will not be redeemable on delivery orders.

One week earlier, on Jan. 23 — also known as National Pie Day — Burger King is offering Royal Perks members a free Hershey’s Sundae Pie, featuring chocolate crème filling and a chocolate cookie crust. Similar to the Croissan’wich deal, customers must place a pickup order of $1 or more on the BK website or app.

Late last year, the Whopper chain began testing the expansion of its breakfast menu with a new Breakfast Grill’wich Sandwich, which includes the same fillings as a Croissan’wich but on flame-grilled flatbread instead of a croissant.
