Burlington area pharmacies, grocery stores distribute free N95 masks

Free N95 masks sent across the country by the federal government have arrived in the Burlington area.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidance Jan. 14 to recommend higher-quality masks like surgical masks, KN95s and N95s instead of cloth masks. The Biden administration announced Jan. 19 the shipment of 400 million masks countrywide to increase access to high quality masks.

At each store where they are distributed, a person is limited to taking three masks. Here are the locations in the Burlington area distributing free N95s.

CVS Pharmacies

The Free Press confirmed four CVS locations in Chittenden County where free N95s are available: Church Street Marketplace, South Burlington, Colchester and Williston. The masks are available behind the front counter or near the front of the store.

Walmart

The Williston Walmart has free N95s stocked at the front of the store where customers walk in.

Shaw's

The Free Press confirmed that the Shaw's in Colchester has free N95s stocked in their pharmacy department on a display. The other two Shaw's locations in the area could not be reached by phone.

Price Chopper and Market 32

NBC5 News reported that Market 32 in South Burlington and Price Chopper off of Williston Road have free N95s.
