A new Burlington department store has opened its doors in the Midlands. Here’s where

There’s a new place in Lexington for folks to shop for clothing, accessories and more.

Burlington, a national chain with more than 800 stores in the U.S., opened a new location at 5322-A Sunset Blvd. in Lexington. It’s right next door to a Hobby Lobby store.

Burlington describes itself on its website as “a nationally recognized off-price retailer.” The company did more than $9 billion in sales in 2021. The stores were once known as Burlington Coat Factory, but dropped the “Coat Factory” from the name a number of years ago to “better reflect the amazing and varied assortment of merchandise” the store carries, the Burlington website says.

Burlington carries clothing for men, women and kids, as well as personal care products, home office goods, some electronics and more.

The new spot has opened in a very busy area of Lexington. Aside from the aforementioned Hobby Lobby, the shopping center where it’s located also includes Ulta Beauty, MOD Pizza, Nothing Bundt Cakes, a Prisma Health internal medicine facility and other businesses.

About 38,400 cars per day travel down Sunset Boulevard in that area, according to state Department of Transportation data.
