Burlington Fire Department fights house fire on Sharpe Road

A house in the 1400 block of Sharpe Road is a total loss after a fire Sunday, Dec. 19.

The Burlington Fire Department reported getting to the fire at 8 p.m., Sunday, about four minutes after getting the dispatch call, according to a department news release. By that time there were already flames coming from both stories of the house. No one was inside, and firefighters had the flames under control in 20 minutes. In that time, the fire had already done an estimated $100,000 in damage, and the house is considered a total loss, according to the release.

The American Red Cross is helping the three adults and four children who were living in the house. The fire department reported no injuries in the fire.
